Traveling during the summer can be an expensive proposition when on vacation. It seems everyone is on vacation causing the rates to go higher and higher. Supply and demand… Yup! So take advantage of it!In the hotter climates like Florida, Las Vegas, Arizona, etc., you can get basement bargain rates in the summer. All you have to do is ask for the summer rates. Most hotels will give a special rate in the summer to those who ask in order to fill a certain percentage of residency during their slow summer months. You see, when the temperature starts to reach 100F, many travelers will go to cooler climates. The trick is to stay by the pool / lake / ocean, during the day and then see the sites later in the day. Remember, ASK for the special summer rate, otherwise you will get the standard.
